behind all that junk, hides a hunk

Random word/image association

the cat was the random picture.and had to come up with words that are associated with a cat or words that immediately come to your mind when you see or hear cat. this is my list;

anyway,with that being said. I went an extra mile to show you guys a pair of my very own "scary eyes"can you see the scary veins?and those weird black marks!pretty scary huh!!lol!anyway,this is an original photograph,has not been photoshoped!the eye lashes are not mine.im wearing false lashes!lol!i think next time il wear red contact lenses to make it even super-duper scary!!

objective novelty - something that is new to a person or a group whereas others might already know that something.
eg. a foreigner who just learn how to say words in another language. he/she may be new to the experience, while the natives of that language had been knowing that all along. *daaah*

subjective novelty - something that is new to the whole mankind. no one has ever know of it.
eg. an invention or findings that is new to the human race as it was never been seen before.

invention - invention refers to new concepts or products that derive from individual’s ideas or from scientific research.

innovation and creativity- i have already discussed this in one of my first few blog entries .

(The picture in this post shows all these ideas at once! what a quick,creative,new and lethal way to wean a baby!! *evil grin* muahahaha!)

this class was pretty interesting!its a continuation of the one based on juxtaposition. We were required to choose two completely different kinds of animals and turn them into one,to see how their offspring would look like in case of mating. My choice was of a bird and a fish.it is a good example to show how mergers go wrong;

1.the two animals do not stay in the same environment, therefore do not stand a chance of mating. because neither one of them can survive in the others habitat.

2.assuming that scientists can extract the bird and the fish's reproductive cells, and fertilize them in a lab.this will still fail, because these two are from totally different species therefore conception will not even take place because of the DNA issues.

bill gates' metaphor-"microsoft earth"

Metaphorically speaking,i equate Bill Gates to a Microsoft earth! Bill gates being the founder of Microsoft computer, has contributed a great deal to making the world into a "global village". people can connect instantly with each other using the world wide web (www). The use of his computers and many other services are known and used world wide.the $dollar sign in the drawing signifies the amount of wealth he has acquired over the years,making him the world's wealthiest man alive! he definitely rules the world!he is the world!!

juxtaposition

oh man!this is by far the most interesting topic we have ever discussed in class.Juxtaposition means;

1.	an act or instance of placing close together or side by side, esp. for comparison or contrast.

2.	the state of being close together or side by side.

I understand that mind mapping is a form of brainstorming where creative diagrams are used to express relationships between ideas or other pieces of information.

According to Wikipedia, It has been suggested that the mind mapping technique can improve learning/study efficiency up to 15% over conventional note taking.

The above Illustration is a good example of how people use this technique. Take note of how ideas are spread out, hence offering a clear and broad perspective of the subject at hand.

Creative hair style

The person in this photograph is my sister.Well, that's not the point. I want to discuss about creative hairstyles. Its evident that I'm of African Descendant, and that being the case, have the kind of hair that can be manipulated into a wide range of hair styles. Naturally the hair texture is course, or "nappy", but could be relaxed using chemicals,or could be straightened using hair flat irons or tools of that kind.This hair style in particular is called CROSS-OVER CORNROWS. It all started as simple cornrows, but as time went on,fashion changed,and people wanted new styles to suite their type of personality,therefore INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY was the key to achieving such a wonderful piece of art. Notice how the hairstyle is compared to "CORNROWS", because it imitates the straight pattern in the maize cob/corn...thus the name corn-rows.
This hairstyle is suitable for Both girls and boys.
Hair texture type: course to slightly fine hair
Reason: To allow easy handling and manipulation,and to ensure durability

whats bugging me!

Oh well, its evident that there is something bothering me!since i have not been able to do what is expected of me in this class! Pressure from school has been eating me up!and it got me numb for sometime! i have been wondering if this is really along the line of work i want to pursue for the rest of my life!

so after careful consideration of all what is at stake, i have come to my senses!WHAT ON EARTH WAS I THINKING!!

"i need to get my groove on and study hard!from now onwards!im going to be a dedicated student!So help me God in heaven!

anyway, enough about that!did i mention that im totally interested in learning Mandarin Chinese?If not,then im telling you now! Its like the coolest language ever!well,thats one of the things that has been taking most of the time i should be spending on school work!Oh gosh!all my skeletons are out of the closet now! anyway, in my attempt to learn this clearly cultivating language, i got myself to listen to a lot of chinese songs.

Its about how true love only seems to exist in fairytales,and not in real life,about a boy declearing that he shall be like an angle in the fairy tale,and will protect the love of his life.It is rather a sad song,but i totally relate to it,because that is the kind of love i long for!could i be a hopeless romantic...*how sad*....

What is creativity

i believe creativity is being able to turn something simple into something a lot more beautiful,or useful. The ability to manipulate situations or objects to suite the preference of the people involved. Well, that is just my own understanding, i could be wrong, or i could be right. To further clearify this topic, i will refer to Wikipedia, which defines creativity as thus:

"Creativity is a mental and social process involving the generation of new ideas or concepts, or new associations of the creative mind between existing ideas or concepts. Creativity is fueled by the process of either conscious or unconscious insight. An alternative conception of creativeness is that it is simply the act of making something new."

it is very clear that i had an idea of what creativity is all about,clearly because im an FCM student! *giggles*

anyway, If i was to name a person famous for his creative work, i would say "Leonardo da Vinci". he is famous for making "the mona lisa" and many other works of art.I have provided a link that leads to the "leonardo Home Page", which provides a rich background information about almost everything put in record about this legendary artist.

Back to school!back to reality!

Oh my goodness!School has started and the holiday is over! im dreading the idea of going to school!because i had the best time of my life in china this past holiday!and i didn't want to come back to Malaysia,just yet! On the other hand my heart is filled with excitement and great anticipation of how school will be, considering the fact that this trimester i will be leaving alpha and majoring,at long last! I have an unusual mixture of emotions!i finally registered,and looking forward to my first class in Creative Studies!

this is a few things that i had in mind when i registered for this subject:


1.first of all, i assumed that we will be dealing with the theoretical aspects of design and art!


2.I thought that we will learn a lot about the history of art and people who invented things we use today to enhance our creativity today.


3.I am in no way expecting to draw.


4.I look forward to enriching my self with the knowledge that the lecturer and my fellow course mates will bring forth throughout this trimester. I will keep an open mind!


Anyway, i guess i shall see what this course has in-store for me as time goes on! maybe my assumptions might be right or wrong. I'm yet to find that out! either way, i intend to have fun,while doing so!! cheers!!
